where: shinjuku (新宿区)
Sleepless nights, sensory overload, sushi overdose.
Where to stay: Keio Plaza Hotel – a grand hotel just a short walk from the heart of Shinjuku. Extremely attentive staff with views of the Tokyo Government Building and Mount Fujij. Where to eat: You won’t have to look far. Shinjuku has so many options for any type of cuisine, any time of day. Ramen, Sushi, and hidden Izakayas can be found on every street corner. No matter which one you choose, you will never have a bad meal. Favourite Hidden Gem: Kuriya. What really stood out about Kuriya was the warmth and hospitality. It’s so cozy you almost forget about the madness occurring outside. Try an assortment of bar snacks, top shelf whiskys, and mind blasting sashimi. What to do: Robot Restaurants, Virtual Reality, Pachinko Machines, Shinjuku Station, Shopping, Arcades, and Hostess Bars.
“It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.”
